Post-Concussion Therapy

Stacey Simone Acupuncture has been successfully treating and resolving the symptoms associated with traumatic brain injuries for years. Incorporating the right blend of modalities for your situation including acupuncture, cupping, guasha, sound therapy, herbal remedies, and lifestyle recommendations, together, we can help you get you back to the pre-concussion quality of life you were accustomed to. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were over 2 million concussion-related visits to United States’ emergency rooms in 2014. Being struck by or against an object accounted for 17% of these visits. Concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that occurs after a blow to the head. Signs and symptoms of concussion include loss of consciousness, confusion, visual disturbances, dizziness, headache, nausea, and tinnitus. Post-concussive symptoms include chronic headaches, short-term memory difficulties, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, insomnia, personality changes such as irritability or mood swings, and sensitivity to light and noise. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and range from infrequent to continuous. Post-concussive symptoms typically resolve in a few weeks to several months; though can persist for a year or more in some instances.
